The mission of the Christian Science Joint Institutional Committee of Missouri (JIC) is to fulfill Jesus’ command, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15)   The JIC makes Christian Science available to people confined in institutions – to those who are unable to take advantage of our churches’ public activities.

The JIC provides a Christian Science ministry to those inmates and/or patients interested in its teachings by:
– Providing Christian Science church services and/or conferences
– Visiting and praying with those who are confined in prisons, jails, mental hospitals and juvenile facilities in Missouri
– Distributing authorized Christian Science literature
– Arranging for Christian Science lectures in institutions, sponsored by one or more branch churches or societies
– Cooperating with and supporting Christian Science branch churches, societies, local committees and individuals in Missouri in carrying out institutional work in their communities

Our outreach programs have helped many inmates and patients to overcome physical, mental, emotional and spiritual challenges through application of the truths found in the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. See “Fruitage” for examples of healing and inspiration experienced by those we serve.

We invite you to join us in this healing ministry of the Christian Science churches in Missouri that addresses the needs of those individuals currently institutionalized.
